BTO empowers black and Latinx youth who are persistently experiencing the consequences of institutionalized racism and systemic inequity to build a world where all Boston youth can live in an active, equitable, and just society, regardless of race, or socioeconomic status so they can thrive personally and professionally as resilient creative young adults.
BTO EMPOWERS
Youth who are persistently experiencing the consequences of institutionalized racism and systemic inequity to build a world where they can live in an active, equitable and just society. Regardless of race or socioeconomic status, we prepare youth for their futures so they can thrive personally and professionally as resilient creative young adults.
BTO ENGAGES
Youth in the creative process to tap into joy, process emotions, and build resilience. Through their art, young people tell their stories and strengthen and build confidence in their voice.
BTO INSPIRES
Youth through authentic mentorship to build connections and provide support and guidance in navigating life, relationships, academics, and the artistic journey.
BTO HEALS
By fostering a sense of belonging and providing a safe, supportive, and stable space where they honor young people’s lived experiences and cultures and help them feel welcomed, seen, and included.
BTO PREPARES
Young people for their futures by providing workshops on crucial life skills such as creative entrepreneurship, conflict resolution, job readiness, college prep, and financial literacy. We give them the tools and resources necessary to go out into the world and flourish in all aspects of their lives.
BTO understands that young people living in Boston experience trauma and require healing - particularly the young people they serve who grow up in neighborhoods where they experience first-hand the effects of intergenerational poverty, racism, violence, and trauma.
