Change the future of Boston's youth by making a donation to support BTO, today!

Black and Latinx families face poverty at higher rates compared to other racial and ethnic groups in the United States.

Almost 20% of Black families and 28% of Latinx families live below the poverty line, compared with 8% on average for all families. This lack of economic resources combined with the lack of music and arts education in Boston Public Schools means that these students are unable to access these important resources for a creative outlet. Furthermore, mental illnesses, such as depression and anxiety are more prevalent in these communities, yet resources are notoriously difficult to access through traditional channels. BTO empowers young artists to explore their creativity while promoting mental health healing from trauma.
